About

My Italian Stories is a fiction-based project for adult learners of Italian created by the author and certified Italian teacher Andrea Camillo.

It includes a graded reader series and a monthly newsletter with original stories designed for intermediate learners (A2-B1).

Who Is This For

You have started your journey with the Italian language and learned the basics. You also love books, and luckily, reading is a great way to practice, expand your vocabulary, and keep making progress.

However, finding the right books to start reading in Italian isn’t easy. Many people have suggested you try children’s books, but you’d prefer stories written for adults.

With My Italian Stories, you don’t have to compromise or to settle for content that doesn’t interest you. Thanks to well-crafted original stories, you can enjoy a high-quality reading and learning experience.

Because you are a reader and a language learner. And readers love good stories, no matter the language.

Reading is a powerful tool for language learners, but it can sometimes be difficult to find stories that match your proficiency level.

When they are too easy, we get bored. When they are too hard, we get frustrated.

To avoid an unsatisfying or discouraging reading experience, it’s important to test yourself with a good mix of familiar and challenging content, so you can stay motivated without getting frustrated.

My Italian Stories are specifically designed for adult intermediate learners (A2-B1). This means that you will be able to enjoy and follow the story, as you continue to learn and improve.

Readers love to lose themselves into a good story. But language learners don’t want to get lost.

You need structured and high-quality reading and learning experience to stay engaged and motivated. Content that is interesting, useful, and easy to access and carry around, so you can incorporate it into our schedule.

By subscribing to the My Italian Stories newsletter, you’ll receive one original story every month directly to your inbox. Each issue also includes reading comprehension exercises and short prompts to help you reflect on what you read, so you can practice both your reading and writing skills.

My Italian Stories is also a series of graded readers, available in paperback and ebook. Each volume includes a collection of original short stories in Italian, designed specifically for intermediate learners. Along with the stories, the books also include exercises that help readers to practice and review.
